Job summary

Nordic Semiconductor in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Field Application Engineer to enable customers to use Nordic technology across diverse applications. You will be a key technical resource for both internal and external teams, owning critical customer relationships and driving successful design-ins.

Responsibilities include presenting Nordic’s value, understanding customer use cases, and collaborating with regional sales to deliver solutions while rapidly addressing inquiries and delivering

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
4+ years of embedded software development with hardware understanding (digital/analog).
2+ years supporting customer product development with ARM microcontrollers.
Experience with wireless protocols (BLE, Wi‑Fi, Thread, Zigbee, cellular).
Experience interfacing IoT devices with cloud services (AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

Create and present Nordic Semiconductor’s value proposition.
Understand customer applications and use cases.
Design-in Nordic solutions with regional sales managers, distributors, and reps.
Respond to technical inquiries and provide timely solutions.
Serve as technical expert in the Sales team.
Develop and own key technical relationships with customers.

About the job

As a Field Application Engineer, you will be responsible for enabling customers to use Nordic technology in a variety of exciting applications. You will be a key technical resource for our internal and external teams.

Key responsibilities

Create and present Nordic Semiconductor’s value proposition
Understand the customer applications and use cases
Work with Regional Sales Managers, distributors, and representatives to design-in Nordic solutions at customers
Respond to technical inquiries and provide solutions in a timely manner
Technical expert in the Sales team
Developing and owning key technical relationships with customers.

Qualification and skills

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
Minimum 4 years of embedded software development experience with an understanding of embedded hardware including digital and analog circuits
Experience with ARM microcontrollers Minimum 2 years of successfully supporting customer product development
Experience working with wireless protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, Thread, Zigbee, and cellular technologies
Experience working with software to interface IoT devices with cloud software services such as AWS and Azure.

Strong customer communication skills in English, written and spoken
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and work with minimal supervision
