Job summary

Nordic Semiconductor in Minneapolis, MN, is looking for a Field Applications Engineer to enable customers to implement Nordic technology across a range of exciting applications. You will be a key technical resource for internal and external teams, driving design‑in and providing expert support.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
• 4+ years embedded software development with hardware understanding (digital/analog).
• 2+ years ARM microcontrollers with customer support experience.
• Experience with wireless protocols: BLE, Wi‑Fi, Thread, Zigbee, cellular.
• Experience interfacing IoT devices with cloud services (AWS, Azure).

About The Job

As a Field Application Engineer, you will be responsible for enabling customers to use Nordic technology in a variety of exciting applications. You will be a key technical resource for our internal and external teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and present Nordic Semiconductor’s value proposition


• Understand the customer applications and use cases


• Work with Regional Sales Managers, distributors, and representatives to design‑in Nordic solutions at customers


• Respond to technical inquiries and provide solutions in a timely manner


• Technical expert in the Sales team


• Developing and owning key technical relationships with customers.

Qualification And Skills

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar


• Minimum 4 years of embedded software development experience with an understanding of embedded hardware including digital and analog circuits


• Experience with ARM microcontrollers Minimum 2 years of successfully supporting customer product development


• Experience working with wireless protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi‑Fi, Thread, Zigbee, and cellular technologies


• Experience working with software to interface IoT devices with cloud software services such as AWS and Azure.

• Strong customer communication skills in English, written and spoken


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and work with minimal supervision
