Job summary

Littelfuse is seeking an experienced Field Application Engineer to support the Energy & Industrial Infrastructure business across the EMEA region. The role partners with Sales, Product Management, and R&D to design solutions from concept to production, with heavy emphasis on power semiconductors and customer collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant engineering experience in Field/Application Engineering or similar roles.
• Experience with power semiconductors and understanding of electrical systems and active components.
• Ability to understand system architecture, technical specs, and customer requirements.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-facing mindset; fluency in English; German is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers throughout the application development and design-in process.
• Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions with internal experts.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support testing, validation, and investigations.
• Partner with Sales to identify technical opportunities and support design wins.
• Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and product training for customers and partners.
• Travel across EMEA to support projects, technical meetings, and training activities.

In this role, you will act as a technical partner to customers and the regional Sales team, helping identify the right technologies, solve application challenges, and support successful product design-ins from the early concept stage through validation and production.You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, R&D, Quality, and other engineering teams to develop customer solutions, support new business opportunities, and share market and application insights.This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong background in power semiconductors who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with customers, and learning across a broad portfolio of technologies.Key Responsibilities:Provide technical support to customers throughout the application development and design-in process.Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions, working with internal product and engineering specialists.Troubleshoot technical issues and support laboratory testing, validation, and investigation of application-related problems.Partner with Sales to identify technical opportunities and support design wins in strategic customer projects.Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and product training for customers and distribution partners.Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, and Quality to communicate customer needs and contribute to product and technology development.Monitor technical opportunities, support customer follow-up, and share application knowledge across the EMEA organization.Travel across EMEA to support customer projects, technical meetings, and training activities.About You:Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.At least 5-7 years of relevant engineering experience in Field Application Engineering, Application Engineering, Design Engineering, or a similar technical role.Experience with power semiconductors is essential, along with a solid understanding of electrical and electronic systems and active components.Ability to understand system architecture, technical specifications, and customer application requirements.Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to technical troubleshooting and validation.Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both engineering and commercial audiences.Customer-oriented mindset and willingness to work closely with customers and Sales teams. Candidates coming from design engineering must be comfortable in a customer-facing role.Fluent English; German is an advantage.Willingness to travel approximately 50-60% across EMEA.For this position, we offer a gross annual base salary of approximately €70,000 to €85,000 + bonuses.
