Job summary

Fenner Dunlop, a Michelin Group company, seeks an Application Engineering Specialist to perform on‑site conveyor belt surveys and provide technical assessments for quotes and warranty evaluations. You will work with sales, distributors, and customers to document field conditions and develop recommendations.

Requires field proficiency, documentation skills, and travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

Technical, mechanical, industrial, engineering, or maintenance‑related education or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

Conduct conveyor belt surveys and inspections at customer locations (plants, mines, quarries, terminals).
Inspect and document belt conditions, including belt specs, construction, covers, splices, tracking and wear patterns.
Collect field measurements and technical details (belt width/length, carcass type, take‑up, layout, speed, capacity).
Evaluate belt performance and identify failure points or maintenance concerns.
Prepare survey reports with photographs, measurements and observations.
Support sales with field data to develop technical recommendations and quotes.
Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of working time, including overnight travel.
Assist with warranty documentation and customer follow‑up.
