Job summary

XYZ Robotics in Suwanee, GA seeks an on-site commissioning engineer to plan, deploy, and optimize robotic systems across client sites. You will work closely with R&D and field teams to ensure seamless installations and meet acceptance criteria.

The role requires hands-on robotics operation, proficiency in Python and AutoCAD, and willingness to travel domestically (~80%). A U.S. driver’s license and Mandarin-English bilingual ability are preferred.

Job description

  • Delivery Schedule Management: Plan on-site delivery pace based on the overall project timeline, ensuring each commissioning phase is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • On-Site Commissioning: Lead on-site deployment and functional integration of robotic systems and related automation equipment; perform fine-tuned parameter optimization based on actual site conditions until acceptance criteria are met.
  • Technical Issue Escalation: Act as the technical bridge between the field and back-end R&D team (based at company HQ in China); participate deeply in on-site testing, accurately identify and promptly report software defects, hardware structural issues, and compatibility problems, and support the R&D team through to issue closure.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain on-site commissioning logs; author technical protocols, operation manuals, and site acceptance reports to ensure complete and accurate technical records.
  • Customer Training: Deliver professional technical walkthroughs and hands-on training to customers' operations and maintenance staff to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Project Coordination: Maintain close communication with the Project Manager (PM), providing real-time updates on on-site delivery status; collaborate with the PM to promptly develop and implement corrective actions for any deviations or potential risks during project execution to keep delivery on track.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Robotics, Information Engineering, Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Automation, or a related field; overseas study background (U.S. or Europe).
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Fluent Mandarin and English Speaking
  • Strong sense of proactive communication and willingness to work on-site; comfortable in frontline environments, results-oriented.
  • Able to accommodate mid-to-long-term domestic travel across the United States (~80% of working time); capable of independently handling on-site emergencies.
  • Strong logical reasoning ability; able to quickly untangle cause-and-effect relationships in complex on-site software/hardware issues and provide systematic solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python programming; solid foundation in linear algebra; familiarity with coordinate transformation.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.; company supports H1B Transfer sponsorship for qualified candidates.
  • 1+ years of experience in proposal writing, solution design, or mechanical design within the logistics industry; understanding of logistics industry use cases.
  • Hands‑on experience operating or maintaining industrial robots, AGV/AMR systems in factory or warehouse environments.
  • Experience with industrial robot teaching (teach pendant), conveyor line control, and industrial sensor configuration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software, with mechanical design capability.
