Role Overview

The Robotics Field Application Engineer will be essential in deploying, supporting, and optimizing our MAXIMO robot in the field, managing its operational aspects. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a production-oriented mindset.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, passionate, and eager to push field capabilities. You will work closely with construction managers, engineering, and product teams to ensure successful deployment and operation of robotic systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customer requirements are met.

This position involves collaboration across MAXIMO teams, providing feedback, reports, and solutions to improve production goals. We believe that accelerating decarbonization requires bold actions to meet future energy needs sustainably.

Major Responsibilities

1. Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety regulations and procedures are followed, maintaining a safe work environment.
2. Operation and Monitoring: Monitor robot performance, ensure uptime, report anomalies, and track issues.
3. Collaboration and Troubleshooting: Work with team members to debug issues, provide feedback, and compile installation reports.
4. Customer Focus: Ensure solar sites meet customer requirements and address inquiries professionally.
5. Innovation and Efficiency: Push field capabilities, brainstorm improvements, and enhance productivity.
6. Maintenance and Optimization: Monitor, maintain, and update robots for optimal performance.
7. Documentation: Keep detailed records and report system performance regularly.
8. Operations Planning: Support development of MAXIMO operational plans.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with engineering, leadership, and construction teams for site improvements.
10. Mission-Driven: Embrace goals to accelerate decarbonization and promote sustainable practices.

Qualifications

1. Founder’s Mentality: Entrepreneurial attitude, curiosity, and drive to get things done.
2. Education: Bachelor’s in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, electrical engineering, robotics) and experience as a Field Application Engineer or similar.
3. Experience: Practical field operations experience, preferably in solar or robotics; programming and configuration skills.
4. Proficiency in Linux: Familiarity with Linux-based systems.
5. Robotics Knowledge: Control algorithms, motion planning, sensor integration.
6. Skills and Behavior: Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and maintain quality and attention to detail. Passion for sustainability.
7. Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot machinery issues and make quick decisions.

Additional Requirements

Travel: Willing to travel frequently to solar farm sites (80+%).

Languages: English required.

Location: Remote position with 90% time on construction sites.

Compensation

Starting salary ranges from $139,000 to $174,250 annually, depending on experience and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Details will be provided upon offer. Employment is at-will, with potential salary adjustments based on performance and market factors.
