City of Laredo is seeking an Animal Control Officer to respond to dispatched calls for stray, injured, or aggressive animals, enforce local ordinances and state statutes, and perform humane capture, transport, and shelter intake. Under the guidance of the Field Services Supervisor, you will educate residents on responsible pet ownership, maintain accurate digital records in PetPoint, and work with veterinary and kennel teams.

A valid Texas driver license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of general experience in animal care, enforcement, or social work.

Responsabilités

• Respond to dispatched calls for stray, injured, or aggressive animals.
• Humane capture, transport, and shelter intake.
• Educate the public on responsible pet ownership.
• Maintain detailed digital call logs and records in shelter-management software (PetPoint).
• Drive a City vehicle as required.
• Enforce City ordinances and Texas statutes.
