Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking Field Adjusters to join our Property Field Claims team. This home-based role serves the Greater Calgary Area, and offers flexibility to work remotely while handling residential claims.

You will inspect properties, capture damages, prepare repair estimates, and coordinate with insureds, vendors and lawyers to settle claims. A strong knowledge of personal lines property insurance and solid PC skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a Field adjuster handling Personal Lines claims.
• Strong understanding of Property Insurance.
• Preference given to candidate who can scope damages and prepare estimates.
• Good PC skills and adaptable using new technology.

Responsibilities

• Completes on site and/or virtual inspections of residential property claims.
• Captures the scope of damages and writes repair estimates to settle claims.
• Reconciles and validates vendor estimates for price and scope.
• Investigates by meeting with insureds, third parties, witnesses and lawyers.
• Reviews facts, policy and reports to decide coverage and settlement.
• Provides exemplary customer service and keeps parties informed of claims status.
• Processes payments to insureds, vendors and other insurers.
• Assists during CATs within Canada.
• Corresponds with third parties, lawyers and insureds involved in the claim.

The opportunity

We are currently hiring for Field Adjusters to join our Property Field Claims team. This role will be home based and we are looking for adjusters in the Greater Calgary Area.

What you’ll do

• Completes on site and/or virtual inspections of residential property claims

• Responsible for capturing the scope of damages and writing repair estimates to settle claims

• Reconciles and validates vendor estimates to ensure price and scope is appropriate

• Investigate by meeting with insureds, third parties, witnesses and lawyers in or order to obtain facts and information.

• Review facts, policy, technical reports, fire marshall reports, case law, and make decisions on coverage, value of the claim and negotiate/settle the claim accordingly

• Responsible for providing exemplary customer service and keeping related parties informed of the claims status.

• Responsible for data accuracy, issuance of payments to insureds, vendors and other insurance companies.

• Assistance during CAT's within Canada.

• Correspond with third parties, lawyers, insureds, brokers and individuals or companies who have an interest in the claim settlement.

What you’ll bring

• 2+ years experience as a Field adjuster handling Personal Lines claims

• Strong understanding of Property Insurance

• Preference given to a candidate with the ability to scope damages and prepare an estimate for repairs

• Good PC skills and adaptable using new technology

• Valid drivers license
