Job summary

Sartorius is seeking a Field Account Manager to expand customer partnerships and accelerate adoption of life science solutions across the North Central territory (OH, MI, IN, IL). This field-based role focuses on growing revenue through strategic account development and strong stakeholder collaboration.

You will build multi-level relationships, drive cross-selling, and lead commercial stages of the sales cycle while utilizing SFDC for forecasting and planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years field sales experience in life sciences or technical manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation, opportunity management, and account planning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain multi-level, long-term customer relationships to strengthen engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Expand share-of-wallet within accounts by cross-selling and multi-product penetration.
  • Lead the commercial stages of the sales cycle for opportunities within assigned accounts, coordinating Technical Sales input.
  • Identify growth opportunities within accounts and deepen engagement across stakeholders.
  • Drive adoption of new products by communicating value and achieving adoption targets.
  • Integrate new customers into the account base to ensure continuity and prevent value leakage post-sale.
  • Maintain pipeline integrity and forecast accuracy in SFDC to enable data-driven territory steering.

Job description

As a Field Account Manager, this field-based role contributes to expanding customer partnerships and accelerating the adoption of innovative life science solutions. Working closely with commercial and technical stakeholders, the position drives revenue growth across an assigned account portfolio in the North Central territory (OH, MI, IN, IL) while supporting long‑term customer success. Through a strong focus on account development, solution adoption, and relationship building, this role helps bring Sartorius’ purpose of advancing scientific progress to life.

What you will accomplish together with us:
  • Build and maintain strong, multi‑level, long‑term customer relationships to strengthen account engagement, satisfaction, & retention and protect recurring revenue
  • Expand Sartorius’ share‑of‑wallet within assigned accounts by actively driving cross‑selling and multi‑product penetration in line with account plans and expected portfolio mix to increase revenue per account
  • Lead the commercial stages of the sales cycle (proposal, negotiation, commercial closure) for opportunities within assigned accounts, orchestrating Technical Sales involvement for early‑stage opportunity creation, technical validation & technical closure to increase win rate and solution adoption
  • Identify and develop growth opportunities within assigned accounts, leveraging Technical Sales for technical validation, trials, and solution design to deepen engagement across stakeholders, uncover new internal use cases, and expand adoption of the Sartorius portfolio
  • Drive adoption of innovative and newly launched products by positioning value, ensuring successful implementation, and delivering NPI‑related targets (e.g., adoption rate, conversion from trials) to accelerate time‑to‑revenue
  • Integrate newly won customers into the assigned account base to ensure continuity of relationships and expansion, capturing all new use cases into the account plan to enable systematic account development and prevent value leakage post‑sale
  • Actively use SFDC to maintain pipeline accuracy, documenting all customer interactions, and ensuring accurate forecasting and data‑driven territory steering to support effective prioritization and performance transparency
What will convince us:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years field sales experience in the life science or technical manufacturing industry, managing mid‑size or large accounts
  • Bioprocessing, manufacturing, MSAT experience preference
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation, opportunity management, and account planning skills
  • Confident communicator able to influence diverse decision‑makers and effectively partner with Technical Sales to shape customer solutions
  • High proficiency in CRM (SFDC) for pipeline management, forecasting, and data‑driven sales steering
  • Self‑driven, results‑oriented, and capable of coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver account outcomes
  • Willing to travel >50% as this role is heavily focused on external customers

Compensation for this position will be a base salary between $90,00.00 and $120,000.00 plus bonus depending on experience and qualifications.
