As part of Pfizer North America, this individual will report directly to the Field Access Director. The Field Access Lead (FAL) will operate under the strategic vision of Pfizer's overarching access and reimbursement plan and compliance standards. Demonstrating integrity and excellent business acumen, the FAL will maintain effective communication and foster significant relationships. Acting as the main point of contact for patient access, the FAL will implement the patient access strategy. They will provide HCP offices with technical expertise to resolve access & reimbursement issues and support patient access to Pfizer therapies.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct office calls with HCPs and/or office staff to support patient access and resolve reimbursement questions.
- Educate HCPs/office staff on payer landscape, coverage, formulary changes, policies, and patient support programs.
- Coordinate reauthorization processes to ensure timely therapy continuation.
- Distribute Pfizer-approved materials related to coverage and reimbursement, including Patient Assistance Programs and billing guides.
- Educate on Hub financial assistance offerings, enrollment, and portals.
- Assist HCP offices with coding and claims issues by liaising with payers.
- Use Pfizer’s designated case notes system compliantly.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on reimbursement and coverage issues in the assigned area.
- Provide interpretive information and local market insights to Pfizer leadership.
- Maintain strong communication, organizational, and relationship skills with diverse customers.
- Uphold discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Adhere to company compliance guidelines and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, linking insights to resources to address access barriers.
- Build trust through follow-up and knowledge of the access journey.
- Exhibit excellence in written and spoken business communication.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 7+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including sales, coding, access, or reimbursement.
- Reimbursement and Access experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of Specialty Drug Reimbursement, Government Payment Systems, and payer policies.
- B.S. or B.A. degree required.
- Exceptional communication, strategic planning, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in a regulated environment with compliance adherence.
- Valid US driver’s license and a compliant driving record.
- Leadership capabilities including influencing, coaching, and guiding colleagues.
- Thorough understanding of payer policy processes and requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Additional certification in coding and reimbursement preferred.
- Coding and billing knowledge or certification a plus.
