As part of Pfizer North America, this individual will report directly to the Field Access Director. The Field Access Lead (FAL) will perform their duties under the strategic vision of the Pfizer Business Units’ overarching access and reimbursement plan and compliance standards. Through demonstration of integrity and excellent business acumen, the FAL will maintain effective communication and continually grow significant relationships. Acting as the main point of contact for patient access, the FAL will implement the patient access strategy. Responsible for providing HCP offices with technical expertise to resolve access & reimbursement issues and support patient access to Pfizer therapies.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct office calls with HCPs and/or office staff to support appropriate patient access to Pfizer products, including resolving reimbursement and coverage questions.
- Provide education for HCPs/office staff regarding local/regional payer landscape, payer coverage, formulary changes, payer policies (e.g., prior authorization, step edits, specialty pharmacy coverage), and patient support programs.
- Coordinate reauthorization processes at designated accounts to ensure timely continuation of therapy.
- Distribute Pfizer-approved materials related to coverage and reimbursement, such as Patient Assistance Programs and billing/coding guides.
- Educate HCPs/office staff on Hub financial assistance programs, enrollment, HCP portal(s), and related brochures.
- Assist HCP offices reactively with coding and claims issues by liaising with payers to understand policies and requirements.
- Use Pfizer’s designated case notes system compliantly.
- Become a subject matter expert on reimbursement and coverage issues affecting Pfizer products in your area, facilitating patient access.
- Provide interpretive information and local market insights to Pfizer leadership regarding reimbursement issues.
- Exhibit strong communication, organizational, and relationship skills to effectively engage with diverse customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 7+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, typically in sales, coding, access, or reimbursement.
- Reimbursement and access experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of specialty drug reimbursement, government payment systems, provider/carrier networks, co-pay assistance programs, and policy dynamics across Pfizer units.
- B.S. or B.A. degree required.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, strategic planning, problem-solving skills, and successful implementation experience.
- Proven leadership and collaboration skills across internal boundaries.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment with strict compliance adherence.
- Valid US driver’s license and a compliant driving record.
- Leadership capabilities including influencing, coaching, and guiding colleagues for business impact.
- Thorough understanding of payer policy processes, systems, and requirements.
- Knowledge of reimbursement support rules and regulations.
- Ability to communicate technical payer processes effectively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Additional certification in coding and reimbursement (preferred but not required).
- Coding and billing knowledge or certification (a plus).
