Job summary

Aerotek, based in Zachary, LA, is seeking a Fiberglass Technician for a contract-to-hire role in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will spray fiberglass insulation into molds, prepare surfaces, and finish parts with sanding and light painting.

The position offers growth, potential shift expansion, and a schedule starting 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with plans for a second shift. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of hands-on fiberglass experience, proficiency with spray guns, catalyst

Qualifications

• 2–3 years hands-on fiberglass experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
• Proficient with fiberglass spray guns and applying into molds.
• Experience with pneumatic spray guns and related equipment.
• Ability to mix catalysts and other components accurately.
• Experience in sanding and minor painting for finishes.
• Knowledge of auto body repair or finishing techniques with composites.

Responsibilities

• Operate fiberglass spray guns and pneumatic spray equipment to apply fiberglass into molds per specifications.
• Prepare molds and surfaces for fiberglass application and ensure cleanliness.
• Mix catalysts and materials to achieve correct consistency and curing properties.
• Spray fiberglass to line moldings with even coverage and quality.
• Fill, encapsulate, and cover fiberglass, ensuring proper layering and thickness.
• Sand finished parts for smooth surfaces and prep for finishing.
• Perform minor painting and touch-ups as needed for appearance and durability.
• Inspect parts for defects and correct as needed.
• Apply basic auto body repair techniques to refine components.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE; maintain tools in good condition.
• Collaborate with team to meet production schedules and shifts.
