Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years in manufacturing, detailing, fiberglass/gelcoat work, auto body, or warehouse operations.
  • Able to work outdoors; respirator fit test.
  • Skilled with grinders, buffers, saws, sanders, or willing to learn.
  • Experience with fiberglass/gelcoat repair preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect pools and spas on and off trailers for cleanliness, damage, blemishes, scratches, and workmanship; ensure quality before shipment.
  • Make basic repairs including sanding and buffing the finish.
  • Clean, detail, and pressure wash product to deliver a pristine finish.
  • Document inspections, repairs, and final release electronically.
  • Control material usage; keep area clean and safe; follow safety practices around tools and chemicals.

We are seeking a dedicated Fiberglass Detailing Specialist to join our yard operations team. This role inspects, details, cleans, and makes basic repairs on molded fiberglass pools and spas so we can supply a pristine product to our customers.

About the Role

As a Fiberglass Detailing Specialist, you will inspect pools and spas on and off trailers prior to shipment, correct blemishes and workmanship issues, pressure wash and detail surfaces, and document each unit from initial inspection through final release. You will use hand and portable power tools to deliver a finish that meets Explore Industries quality standards, working outdoors around trucks, trailers, lifts, and SkyTraks with a clear focus on quality, safety, and on-time schedules.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect pools and spas on and off trailers for cleanliness, damage, blemishes, scratches, imperfections, and workmanship, and confirm each unit meets Explore Industries quality standards before shipment.
  • Make basic repairs as needed, including sanding and buffing the finish.
  • Clean, detail, and pressure wash product to deliver a pristine finish.
  • Document inspections, repairs, and final release electronically.
  • Control material usage, keep the work area clean and safe, and follow all safety practices around tools, chemicals, trucks, trailers, lifts, and SkyTraks.
  • Communicate quality findings with the team and work efficiently under deadline pressure to support the shipping schedule.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, perform other duties as assigned, and work overtime as required to meet schedules.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, detailing, fiberglass/gelcoat work, auto body, or warehouse operations (or equivalent hands‑on experience). Training is available.
  • Skilled with grinders, buffers, saws, sanders, and other power and hand tools, or able to learn quickly.
  • Experience with fiberglass or gelcoat repair preferred.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in the elements during the scheduled shift and pass a respirator fit test.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing a pristine finished product.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal, or willingness to learn and follow company procedures.
  • Punctuality, good attendance, dependability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks under time-pressure deadlines, including standing most of the day and lifting up to 50 lbs.
