Job summary

Ryerson is seeking a Machine Operator in Minnesota to start up, operate, and shut down fiber-tube laser equipment. The role requires accuracy, blueprint reading, and safe handling of materials in a union shop environment.

You will perform setup, measurement, and assembly tasks, manage work orders on a computer, and operate cranes or forklifts as needed. Training through an apprenticeship is included in onboarding.

Qualifications

• Skills-based assessment covering reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Set-up of material and tube laser operation
• Check parts with basic measuring devices
• Clean-up of parts (finishing, de-burr, etc.)
• Work order updates and confirmation on computer
• Operating a crane or forklift to move material as needed
• Carrying/moving supplies as needed
