Job summary

Legrand, a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, seeks a Fiber Test Engineering Support Technician in New London, CT. You will perform comprehensive testing of fiber optic cables and connectors, document results, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive product quality and reliability.

You will utilize IL/RL meters, endface measurement systems, and fiber inspection tools, with LabVIEW and SolidWorks experience preferred. Occasional travel (~<10%) and a focus on data-driven improvements are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience is typically required.
• Ability to document and communicate test results clearly.
• Experience with optical fiber testing and related tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute test plans per standard procedures for current and new designs.
• Create, maintain, and present test reports with summaries and analyses.
• Design test fixtures and setups as needed.
• Troubleshoot test methods and recommend improvements.
• Maintain lab equipment and certifications.
• Support ECN processes and first article/production evaluations.
• Follow relevant standards (UL, TIA, CSA, IEC) in testing.
• Travel as needed (typically less than 10%).
