Job summary

Forged Fiber is hiring a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across our network. You will support construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration, performing aerial and underground work while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in fiber splicing or related field, with experience using OTDR, optical power meters, and fusion splicers. Local travel may be required in Chandler, AZ area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
• 2+ years fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test fiber optic cable for construction projects and restorations.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR and power meters; document test results.
• Prepare and repair splice cases/enclosures for aerial, buried, and manhole work.
• Perform aerial and underground work and ensure safety compliance.
• Read drawings and permits; coordinate with crews and engineers; generate field reports.
