Job summary

Millennium Communications Group Inc. in East Hanover, NJ, seeks a Fiber Optic Splicing Supervisor to lead the splicing operation from the yard and in the field.

This role ensures scope clarity, materials readiness, and customer visibility into progress across municipal, campus, and private fiber projects. You will coordinate crews, manage schedules, and advise on outages, with a focus on safe, compliant handoffs and timely closeout packages.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fiber optic construction or splicing.
• Ability to read splice schematics and assign work.
• Experience directing crews or coordinating splice work.
• Strong communication with customers and project managers.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Turn project scope into a clear work plan for the splicing team.
• Set up jobs with prints, access, permits, escorts, and site conditions.
• Ensure materials readiness and on-site availability of cables, closures, trays, and consumables.
• Schedule crews against progress and customer windows; adjust as needed.
• Track progress and report status to project managers and customers.
• Assist crews during troubleshooting and outages; coordinate right tech and materials.
• Review splice documentation and test packages for completeness before closeout.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and customer inspector to avoid holdups at acceptance.
• Set safety, labeling, and handoff expectations for the team.
• Capture field issues for estimating or engineering (missing strand, bad design).
