Job summary

TAK Broadband, LLC in La Crosse, WI seeks an experienced Fiber Splicer to install, repair and test fiber networks. You will splice loose tube and ribbon fiber, connect and configure networks, and troubleshoot field issues to ensure reliable service.

Applicants should have prior fiber splicing experience, CWDM/DWDM exposure, and OTDR familiarity. The role requires outdoor work, overtime, and driving a company vehicle. We offer comprehensive benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Prior fiber splicing experience required.
• Experience with CWDM/DWDM, prepping & splicing from 6ct to 288ct, and familiarity with OTDR (VEeX and/or EXFO) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete installation, repairs and testing of fiber and the different components.
• Splice loose tube and ribbon fiber in compliance with modern standards.
• Connect and configure fiber optic networks for facilities while troubleshooting problems.
• Read splicing print and apply color code to print reading.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation.
• Basic daily maintenance of TAK provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle.
• Ongoing monitoring to ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry specs.
• Safely operate a bucket truck for daily construction tasks; pull fiber trailer as needed.
• Prepare daily production reports, update maps, track work hours, and create as-built maps.
• Reconcile issued parts daily to ensure accurate material usage.
• Frequently work with minimal supervision and perform general cleanup.
