Job summary

AFL Telecommunications, LLC in Duncan, SC is hiring a Fiber Planner to coordinate and sequence orders for Premise cable manufacturing. The role includes staging fiber, issuing optics, creating discrete jobs, and preparing shop-floor paperwork.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in discrete manufacturing for cables, EHS/Quality certs, and solid Excel skills. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required; safety and environmental policy adherence is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of discrete manufacturing experience in cable manufacturing.
• Current EHS/Quality certification and training.
• No pending, active, or a repetitive history of disciplinary action.
• Dependable with exceptional attendance history.
• Availability to work overtime, off shift, and weekends with limited prior notice.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all activities related to discrete job launch to the manufacturing shop floor, including scheduling and sequencing.
• Interprets daily production schedule to determine job launch timing and sequence.
• Creates Oracle Discrete jobs using production length targets.
• Hooks orders to minimize scrap and maximize throughput; optimizes raw material usage.
• Identifies opportunities to use WIP inventory and coordinates with other Fiber Planners.
