Job Description

We're seeking a Fiber Planning Engineer with experience in FTTH/OSP network planning who can support the design, expansion, and optimization of fiber networks. This individual will work closely with engineering, construction, and utility partners to review network designs, evaluate route and capacity requirements, support budgeting and capital planning efforts, and help drive successful fiber deployment projects. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and comfortable using data and technology to improve planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Develop feeder and distribution network plans supporting FTTH expansion initiatives.

Review and validate fiber engineering designs and network architectures.

Support route planning, capacity analysis, and network optimization efforts.

Partner with engineering, construction, permitting, and utility stakeholders throughout project execution.

Assist with project estimating, budgeting, capital planning, and cost tracking.

Coordinate with contractors and engineering firms to ensure project success.

Analyze network and project data to identify efficiencies and process improvements.

Leverage AI and other technology tools to improve planning, reporting, and workflow effectiveness.

Strong understanding of feeder and distribution network design principles.

Experience supporting fiber construction and OSP deployment projects.

Experience with project estimating, budgeting, or capital planning.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, planning, or analysis. FTTH or FTTx deployment experience.

GIS and fiber design platform experience.

Permitting, right-of-way, and utility coordination knowledge.

Experience working with contractors and engineering service providers.

Experience with generative AI, workflow automation, or AI-assisted productivity tools.
