Join Metronet in Hammond, LA as a Network Fiber Technician (Outside Plant). You will terminate, splice, document, and test fiber networks, with outdoor duties and training as required.

The job requires physical work in varied weather and the ability to travel for training. Key responsibilities include setting up and maintaining CPE, LAN, and ONT devices, troubleshooting from MDF to the demarcation, and performing fiber testing and splicing.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years in the telecommunications industry or related experience.
• Some trade school training is desired.
• Ability to work professionally with customers and fellow associates.
• Ability to meet key performance metrics.
• Able to lift and carry loads up to 75 lbs and work from ladders up to 25 feet.

Mansioni

• Set up, test, and maintain CPE installation for POTS, DSL, and networking services.
• Install and maintain LAN and WiFi networks.
• Install and maintain NID and ONT devices.
• Troubleshoot from MDF to demarcation points including CPE.
• Respond to trouble tickets within company standards.
• Install OSP facilities per work orders or service orders.
• Perform preventive maintenance and major repairs of distribution systems.
• Test and splice fiber/cable and locate cabling.
• Record and report changes; complete inventory replenishments.
