Job summary

Cable Services Company, Inc. in Lock Haven, PA is seeking a Fiber Splicer to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic systems across a multi-state Northeast region. The role requires frequent overnight travel and on-call availability for emergency restoration.

Responsibilities include reading maps and schematics, splicing with fusion splicers, operating aerial lifts, and maintaining equipment and documentation while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience using fusion splicers, OTDRs and optical power meters.
• Ability to distinguish colors and read design maps/schematics.
• Occasional work in bucket trucks at heights and lifting up to 80 pounds.
• Must be organized, detailed, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Overnight travel and on-call availability are required.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic systems.
• Prep and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment.
• Route, splice and terminate fiber in racks at central offices or buildings.
• Read design maps and fiber schematics; perform fusion splicing as directed.
• Operate aerial lift and related equipment; maintain safety policies.
• Be on-call for emergency restoration and communicate workload status.
• Complete all required documentation (timesheets, reports) accurately.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Perform additional duties to help the team complete projects.
