Job summary

Cable Services Company, Inc. in Williamsport, PA, seeks a skilled Fiber Splicer to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic systems across a multi-state Northeast region.

This role requires frequent overnight travel, work during off-peak hours (midnight–7am), and weekend on-call duties to support emergency restorations. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of fiber splicing experience, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDRs, optical power meters, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working in a bucket truck at heights above 30-40 ft.
• Proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDRs, optical power meters and related tools.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Experience reading design maps and fiber schematics.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work independently.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic system.
• Prep and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment.
• Route, splice and terminate fiber in equipment racks at central offices or sites.
• Perform fusion splicing as directed with OSP project managers.
• Read design maps, fiber schematics and basic electronic designs.
• Operate aerial lift and related equipment as needed.
• Be on-call for emergency restoration and communicate status to management.
• Complete all required documentation (timesheets, reports, expense reports).
• Manage assigned vehicle, tools, materials and equipment.
