Velocity Network in Erie, PA is seeking a Fiber Optics Installer and Service Technician to install, test, repair, and maintain internet, video and phone services for customers at their homes. The role involves digging, running fiber underground, wiring, testing equipment, and interpreting cable records.

Qualified candidates should have strong communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a satisfactory DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Performing construction work using designated equipment (i.e. digging holes, running fiber lines underground, etc.)
• Installing, rearranging, and maintaining inside wiring.
• Connecting, disconnecting, testing, repairing and maintaining the various types of company and customer provided internet, video and phone equipment.
• Identifying and meeting individual customer requirements on installation and/or repair contacts.
• Reviewing and interpreting underground and aerial cable records in the existing record, on maps or in the field.
• Maintaining and reviewing system documentation.
