Job summary

Lumibird Photonics USA Inc. in West Springfield, MA is seeking an assembler for optical fiber and laser sub-assemblies. You will follow established assembly procedures, handle optical fiber and epoxies in a clean room, and wire PCBs with ESD precautions.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of electrical soldering and/or optical fiber splicing.
• 1–4 years of industrial manufacturing experience.
• 1–4 years fiber handling/manufacturing experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ISO quality systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes assembly procedures to assemble optical and electrical devices.
• Handling and processing optical fiber and epoxies to make components.
• Fiber handling, splicing, and cleaving of optical fiber.
• PCB installation and component soldering with ESD precautions.
• Entering assembly and test data in the fiber assembly database.
• Reports to supervisor and follows standards and procedures.
• Seeks supervisory approval on non-routine tasks.
• Ability to work in a clean room and follow protocol.
• Ability to use test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope).
• Ability to conduct laser module testing.
