Job summary

VIAERO FIBER NETWORKS is hiring an OSP Fiber Utility Construction Laborer in Fort Morgan, CO. This role focuses on installing new fiber network facilities, both underground and aerial, with emphasis on safety and reliable workmanship.

The job offers year-round, full-time work in a team environment, with overtime opportunities, on-site travel, and lodging or per diems when on the road. Entry-level candidates are welcome and training is available.

Qualifications

• Fiber Optic or Utility Construction experience is desired, but willing to train.
• At least 18 years of age and hold a current driver’s license; 21+ and/or CDL endorsement a plus.
• Able to perform manual tasks requiring frequent walking, stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting, digging, pushing and pulling.
• Able to lift materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Able to work outside in all elements.
• Must be able to travel for extended periods of time (overnight and weekly stays required).
• Must have the ability to pass pre-employment checks, including background, MVR, and substance screening.
• Must have an eye for detail and a solid work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Install new Fiber Optic Network facilities (buried underground and possible aerial).
• Pothole existing utilities, place vaults/handholes/manholes, excavate trenches, core drill building entrances, set marker posts.
• Place fiber in new and existing conduits.
• Document work progress as required.
• Haul and move equipment/trailers/materials between projects.
• Assist with cleaning out inventory yards.
• Assist other teams within fiber and cross train.
• Perform other duties as required.
