Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Tech 2 responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber-optic cabling on campus. The role offers a pay rate between $15.50 and $24.50 per hour, regular hours from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The position involves work across various locations within the campus and involves on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Three years full-time work or equivalency installing/terminating voice and data unshielded twisted cable.
• Experience working with electronic key systems, PBX systems, and strong computer skills required.
• Three years full-time work or equivalency installing/testing/repairing fiber optic cabling.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber-optic cabling.
• Provide preventive maintenance for fiber network.
• Provide detailed documentation of time worked and materials used.
