Job summary

Windwave Communications is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to support field-based fiber network construction and deployment projects. This role focuses on high-quality splicing, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure network performance and reliability on active sites.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of fiber splicing experience, OTDR testing expertise, and a proven ability to read splice diagrams and prints.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fiber splicing experience.
• Experience with OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret fiber prints and splice diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Must pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic splicing (single fiber and ribbon).
• Conduct testing using OTDR, power meters, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret splice diagrams, prints, and network designs.
• Troubleshoot fiber issues and resolve signal loss or connectivity problems.
• Prepare and maintain accurate splice documentation and test results.
• Install, prep, and organize fiber in closures, cabinets, and panels.
• Maintain a safe and organized job site.
• Coordinate with crews and supervisors to meet project timelines.

This is a field-based position working closely with construction and operations teams on active projects.

What You'll Do

• Perform fiber optic splicing (single fiber and ribbon)
• Conduct testing using OTDR, power meters, and related equipment
• Read and interpret splice diagrams, prints, and network designs
• Troubleshoot fiber issues and resolve signal loss or connectivity problems
• Prepare and maintain accurate splice documentation and test results
• Install, prep, and organize fiber in closures, cabinets, and panels
• Maintain a safe and organized job site
• Coordinate with crews and supervisors to meet project timelines

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of fiber splicing experience
• Experience with OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret fiber prints and splice diagrams
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Must pass drug screen and background check.
• Field-based role working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Travel may be required depending on project needs. Overtime available based on project schedules.
