Job summary

Cable Services Company, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer in Wheeling, WV to install, splice, and maintain fiber optic systems across multiple sites.

The role involves frequent travel, overnight hours during non-peak periods, and on-call weekend duties to support emergency restoration. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years in fiber splicing, a high school diploma or GED, and experience with fusion splicers, OTDRs, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables
• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience using fusion splicers, OTDRs and related tools
• Must possess color vision and ability to read design maps and schematics
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work at heights when required

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic system
• Read design maps, fiber schematics and basic electronic designs
• Route, splice and terminate fiber in various locations
• Operate aerial lift and related equipment
• Be on-call for emergency restoration and communicate workload status
• Complete company documentation for each assignment
