Job summary

Verita is seeking a Fiber Splicer – Telecommunications to install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic cables across diverse field sites. The role requires reading schematics, performing fusion or mechanical splicing, and using OTDRs and power meters to verify networks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3+ years of fiber splicing experience in a telecom environment.
• Proficiency with fusion splicing equipment and fiber testing tools (OTDR, VFL, power meters).
• Ability to read and understand fiber design maps and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques.
• Prepare and install fiber optic cables, closures, and enclosures.
• Test fiber lines using OTDR, power meters, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Interpret fiber schematics, blueprints, and splice diagrams.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber network issues and outages.
• Maintain accurate records of splicing activities and test results.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and company quality requirements.
• Adhere to safety protocols when working in aerial, underground, or confined spaces.
• Work closely with field technicians, project managers, and engineering teams.
• Travel to job sites as needed and work in various outdoor conditions.
