Job summary

Garmac Limited LLC in Lexington, KY is seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Installation Technician with hands-on FTTH experience. You will install, test, and troubleshoot fiber networks at residential and commercial locations, and educate customers on services.

You should be comfortable working independently on multiple jobs daily, using OTDRs and power meters, and operating drills, ladders, and hand tools. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on FTTH/telecom installation experience preferred.
• Ability to use fiber testing equipment (power meters, OTDRs, light sources).
• Capacity to safely operate drills, ladders and installation tools.
• Knowledge of home networking, routers, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet.
• Strong customer-service skills and professional appearance.
• Ability to manage multiple jobs daily.
• Valid driver's license and clean record.
• Must possess truck and basic toolset.

Responsibilities

• Install fiber-optic service at residential and commercial locations.
• Run fiber from network points to customer premises.
• Install and route interior/exterior fiber cabling.
• Install customer-premise equipment including ONTs and routers.
• Terminate, splice, test, and verify fiber connections.
• Test signal levels with OTDRs and power meters.
• Configure routers and Wi‑Fi, ensure connectivity.
• Troubleshoot fiber, equipment, and network issues.
• Educate customers on installed services and operation.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and document work orders.
