Job summary

Garmac Limited LLC is seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Installation Technician to perform FTTH installations and troubleshooting for residential and commercial customers in Michigan. You will install fiber drops, run cables, terminate fibers, install ONTs/routers, test with optical power meters and OTDRs, and configure Wi‑Fi for reliable service.

Qualifications

• FTTH or telecom installation experience preferred.
• Ability to use fiber testing equipment (meters, OTDRs).
• Basic understanding of home networking (routers, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet).
• Strong customer-service skills and professional appearance.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to pass background checks and drug screenings when required.

Responsibilities

• Install fiber-optic service at residential and commercial locations.
• Run fiber from terminals to customer premises.
• Install and route interior/exterior fiber cabling; drill through walls as needed.
• Install fiber drops, NIDs/enclosures, ONTs, routers, and customer equipment.
• Perform fiber terminations and splicing; test with meters/OTDRs.
• Verify installations meet specs and activate internet or related services.
• Configure routers and Wi‑Fi; confirm connectivity.
• Troubleshoot fiber, equipment, Wi‑Fi, and general connectivity issues.
• Educate customers on installed equipment and basic operation.
• Document work, test results, and installation details; maintain tools and inventory.
