Job summary

AFL is hiring a field technician to install and service fiber optic internet and voice services in Las Vegas. You will run fiber from street to home and set up interior equipment across residential settings, indoors and outdoors.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years in fiber optics or residential installations, strong customer service, and a valid driver’s license with reliable personal vehicle and basic tools for installation work.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience in fiber optics or residential installations
• Experience working in customer homes with strong customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Must provide own vehicle and basic tools for installation work
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Install FTTH fiber from street to home (aerial and/or underground drops)
• Install, configure, and activate high‑speed internet and voice service equipment (ONTs, routers)
• Perform fusion splicing, terminations, and connectorization
• Test and troubleshoot fiber lines using OTDR and power meters
• Educate customers on internet/phone services including basic WiFi setup
• Accurately document installs, service calls, and test results
