Job summary

AFL is seeking a motivated Fiber Installation Technician to install and service fiber-based broadband, TV, and voice offerings both inside and outside customers' homes. You will handle drops, splices, ONT setup, and network verification, while educating customers about services.

The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs, driving, and flexibility for hours, including weekends. Training and safety compliance are emphasized, with focus on delivering excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Flexible hours including some weekends/holidays.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen.
• Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Ability to be on call and on standby.
• Ability to perceive differences in wire colors.
• Willingness to complete on-the-job training to stay current in telecom.

Responsibilities

• Install and verify fiber drops, splices, ONT and power supplies.
• Install Internet hubs/routers and MOCA if needed.
• Configure customer devices and educate customers.
• Initialize set up box for activation on fiber network.
• Perform testing such as readings at splitter points and verify service.
• Identify and promote sales opportunities during installations.
