Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Field Operations Technician to install, test, repair, and maintain fiber and network equipment at customer sites. You will work on poles, trenches, and building terminals to ensure reliability and performance, contributing to customer connectivity and service quality.

The role requires climbing, reading engineering plans, operating service vehicles, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver\'s license and appropriate training are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver\'s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Related Associate Degree or 2+ years\' relevant experience.
• Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training.
• Field Operations Assessment and Verizon Job Fit Test B.

Responsibilities

• Connecting, disconnecting, testing, repairing, maintaining, installing and rearranging Company and customer-provided equipment, inside wiring, and wires at poles, underground or building terminals.
• Making necessary preparations required for splicing, rearranging and terminating cable conductors.
• Installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing access lines for all types of equipment and technology.
• Operating trucks and equipment needed to perform work operations in a safe manner.
• Reading and interpreting engineering plans and vendor specifications.
• Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors, and distinguishing audio tones.
• Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.
