Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of splicing experience; preferred CDL Class A, DOT Medical Exam card, and First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 5 years prior experience in the skill of splicing communication lines.
• Current Class A CDL or willingness and ability to obtain.
• Current DOT Medical Exam card or willingness to obtain.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness and ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and thoroughly performs splicing of communication lines. Fiber optic and copper splicing required.
• Performs work and handles tools following safety rules and practices.
• Interpret specifications/diagrams to properly connect lines; insulates joints; apply cable sheathing.
• Barricading on public highways and right-of-ways as needed.
• Complete Tailboards, Service Orders, Accident Reports, Interruption Reports, etc.
• Maintain communication with supervisor about assignments and safety hazards.
