Job summary

Consertus, Inc. in Cambridge, MA, is seeking an Engineer II, Outside Plant (OSP) to design and engineer fiber optic networks for residential, commercial, and municipal deployments.

You will create construction drawings, fiber routing plans, splice diagrams in Bentley MicroStation V8i, and translate service orders into engineering deliverables. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of OSP fiber engineering experience, proficiency with MicroStation V8i and GIS/CAD tools, and strong communication

Qualifications

• 3–5 years OSP fiber network engineering experience
• Proficient in Bentley MicroStation V8i and MS Office 365
• Strong understanding of fiber optic technologies and industry standards (RUS, BICSI, NESC)
• Experience processing service orders and engineering packages for construction
• Familiarity with GIS, CAD, and fiber management systems

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer outside plant fiber optic networks for residential, commercial, and municipal deployments
• Create detailed construction drawings, fiber routing plans, and splice diagrams using Bentley MicroStation V8i
• Interpret service orders and translate them into actionable engineering deliverables
• Conduct field surveys and validate existing infrastructure for integration into new designs
• Maintain documentation and records in accordance with company and client standards
