Job summary

Lightpath is seeking a Fiber Engineer in Parsippany, NJ to own and optimize the company’s fiber network, design routes, and support service installation and maintenance. You will maintain GIS and asset records, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and help deliver reliable connectivity for diverse customers.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office, GIS tools, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 4-Year Degree in Engineering or equivalent telecom fiber network experience.
• Ability to function independently and self-motivate.
• Strong interpersonal skills for supporting and communicating with cross functional teams.
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite including MS Visio.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the usage of Lightpath’s Fiber Network.
• Engineer fiber routes for services like Dark Fiber, Ethernet, SD-WAN, WDM, DIA, Small Cell, and FTT.
• Create fiber paths and splicing plans for new installations or relocations.
• Maintain accurate asset data in the GIS database.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to meet customer needs.
