Actalent in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Drafter / CAD Technician to draft and design for telecommunications and utility projects using AutoCAD and ArcGIS. The role involves creating land base prints and permit drawings, supporting mapping, and producing construction‑ready plan sets for field crews and permitting authorities.

The position is fully onsite in Milwaukee, offering collaboration with project teams, organized files, and growth within telecom/utility engineering.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting and design.
• Experience with ArcGIS or similar GIS software.
• Ability to create land base prints and utility plan sets.
• Experience with telecom/utility drawings (underground/aerial).
• Strong attention to detail in drafting and documentation.
• Ability to import/export multiple file types between CAD and GIS tools.
• Clear communication and teamwork.
• Maintain organized project files and versioning.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate land base prints in AutoCAD for field crews and project teams.
• Develop and complete utility plan sets in AutoCAD for underground and aerial fiber networks.
• Prepare detailed permit drawings for various authorities and municipalities.
• Perform mapping work to support telecom and utility projects.
• Compile comprehensive job books with drawings, permits, and docs.
• Import/export file types between drafting/design and GIS tools.
• Support OSP, right‑of‑way, and power distribution projects through drafting and documentation.
• Collaborate with team to ensure drawings meet specs, standards, and timelines.
• Maintain organized project files and ensure current, properly versioned drawings.
