Job summary

River Cities Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Data Communications Technician to install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling systems in commercial and industrial settings.

You will read blueprints and schematics, test networks, and ensure documentation meets project requirements. The role requires 3+ years of hands-on telecom experience, familiarity with VoIP, VLANs, and IP-based systems, and a strong safety record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecom systems.
• BICSI Installer certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and network diagrams to perform work.
• Perform cable testing and certification using industry-standard equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, as-built diagrams, and project documentation.
• Promote safety and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
