Job summary

Colonial Group in New Hampshire seeks a Color Technician in the Fiber department. Under minimal supervision, you will set up, operate and perform color compound batch assembly and extrusion, keeping records and following instructions to maintain process integrity and final product quality.

You'll weigh and blend pigment pellets, manage raw materials with E-1 programs, and produce fabric samples using the 1” extruder and pilot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, blend and extrude colored pigment pellets for the production of spun fibers
• Locate and adjust inventory of raw materials using E-1 programs
• Produce fabric samples for review by internal personnel and external customers utilizing the 1” extruder and pilot equipment (draw bench, card, loom and dilo)
• Compare samples to target masters on the Datacolor color compounder
• Performs other duties as required

REPORTS TO: Fiber Team Leader

CATEGORY: Machine Operator II

SCHEDULE: Monday – Thursday, 7am – 5pm.

SUMMARY:

With minimal supervision sets up, operates and performs color compound batch assembly and extrusion. Keeps necessary records. Works to written and verbal instructions. Acts to maintain the integrity of processes and final product quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Weigh, blend and extrude colored pigment pellets for the production of spun fibers
• Locate and adjust inventory of raw materials using E-1 programs
• Produce fabric samples for review by internal personnel and external customers utilizing the 1” extruder and pilot equipment (draw bench, card, loom and dilo)
• Compare samples to target master's on the Datacolor color compounder
• Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school graduate
• 1 year of previous extruder experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequent standing, walking, ladder climbing
• Frequent lifting of buckets to 30lbs
• Frequent manipulation of pigment drums to 300lbs
• Frequent manipulation of pigment gaylords to 90lbs
