Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an Extrusion Technician C to operate and maintain extrusion equipment on production lines. This role includes identifying and correcting issues on the line, performing quality checks, and assisting with packaging and storage.

The position requires high school level education, reliability, and willingness to work 4pm–12am or 12am–8am shifts with attendance bonuses. On-site training is provided and health benefits are included.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality bag checks.
• Read production sheets and adjust lines as directed.
• Assemble boxes when required and keep lines stocked.
• Maintain color meters and change colors as needed.
• Use quality stamps properly and maintain tagging.
• Stack finished goods on pallets and apply protective wrapping.
• Record completed production and read production schedules.
• Keep work area clean and orderly while following safety guidelines.
• Use proper tools and PPE; shut down machinery when necessary.

TITLE: Extrusion Technician C

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Production operatorswork on production lines to perform tasks related to manufacturing, packaging, and storing products.They operate and maintain machinery and equipment and may also supervise the production process and ensure product quality.

• Hiring for 4pm to 12am and 12am to 8am shifts
• Starting at $15.00 per hr. – earn $2.00 more per hour on 4p to 12am and $3.00 more per hour on 12am to 8am with perfect weekly attendance

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

• Education - High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• Experience – Prefer previous work experience with machines in a manufacturing setting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform proper quality bag checks
• Read production sheets and make adjustments as necessary on assigned lines.
• Make boxes if required, finish in a timely manner and keep the production line properly supplied.
• Keep color meters filled with proper material and empties color meter properly when changing colors.
• Uses quality stamp properly and consistently
• Stacks finished goods properly on pallets, places proper protective wrapping for storage and completes pallet tags
• Recording finished goods produced
• Ability to read production schedule.
• Maintains assigned work area and keeps it clean and orderly.
• Follows company safety guidelines, policies and procedures.

• Uses the correct tools for the job i.e. safety knife/protective gloves

• Shutting down machinery when necessary
• Wear all the required personal protective equipment; safety shoes, glasses and hearing protection.
• Maintains good attendance to work

• Assists co-workers when needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Ability to work in an environment that is extremely hot, humid in the summer months, and cold in the winter months.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Ability to quickly move your hand, your hands together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, lift, manipulate or assemble objects. (many duties require hand over hand movement) (frequently)
