Actalent is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install, terminate, and test structured cabling and fiber optic systems in commercial and industrial settings in Milwaukee, WI. The role involves routing cabling, setting up network equipment, and ensuring installations meet NEC standards and project specs.

The position isContract to Hire with onsite work in Milwaukee, with a pay range of $35,000–$45,000 per year. Benefit packages include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) options.

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic installation, termination and testing.
• Knowledge of routing low-voltage cabling through walls, ceilings, conduit and trays per NEC.
• Able to lift 20–50 lbs regularly.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems (Cat5e/6/6A).
• Perform fiber optic installation, termination and splicing.
• Route cabling through walls, ceilings, conduit and trays per NEC and project specs.
• Install and terminate patch panels, racks, jacks, and network equipment.
• Test and certify copper and fiber cabling with testing equipment.
• Support installation of low-voltage systems (fire alarm, CCTV, access control).
• Pull and label cabling for organized installations.
• Work safely at heights and access ceilings/rooms as needed.
• Collaborate with team following project plans and specs.
• Document test results and installation details.
