This will require that you manage your daily route and schedule within certain parameters and that you are committed to the high quality and accuracy of your work to ensure that customers and contractors can operate in complete safety and with full knowledge of the location of any underground fiber optics they may encounter.RESPONSIBILITIES:Search for underground fiber optics and accurately marking the locationComplete all necessary locate documentationMaintain daily contact with utility managers, crews, homeowners, and contractors regarding locate issuesReceive daily locates via computer/devicePrioritize your daily work by going through all locate requests to determine routingRead and understand provided maps to assist in identification of underground fiber opticsEnsure that customers and contractors suffer no damages or injuries due to mislocated fiber opticsRespond to emergency calls in a timely manner, and work periodic weekends or evening on-call rotationWork closely with GIS personnel to ensure that up-to-date fiber maps are accurate for system and contract personnelProvide a safe work environment by being knowledgeable of and enforcing all state, local, and federal safety regulations, and company safety policiesOperate and monitor company-owned vehicle by inspecting condition dailyDemonstrate Allo core values-Local, Hassle Free, Honest and ExceptionalTravel to different markets as needed/requiredMeet overtime mandates as needed/requiredOther duties as assignedEDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE:Locating, utility, construction, GIS, safety awareness experience a plusSKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:Knowledge of underground utility construction and your assigned geographic regionBasic knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, and GISSkills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, contractors, and company employeesFlexibility and temperament to adapt to sudden challenges and changing work conditionsWillingness to change schedule at short notice to respond to emergency callsAbility to work overtime (>40 hours_ and in various locations beyond home market as neededAvailability for weekend on-call duty, as requiredAbility to pass pre-employment background check and drug screenStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesREQUIREMENTS:Must own and use a smartphone with adequate data and coverage to access ALLO systems and processes in the field (phone stipend provided)Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s licenseAbility to raise up to 50 lbs.Ability to remain upright on feet for extended periodsAbility to crouch and crawlAbility to move on foot up to 10 miles per dayAbility to bend, kneel, standAbility to carry tools and equipmentAbility to operate a computerAbility to operate hand tools and equipmentAbility to work in outdoor weatherAbility to identify different colorsTravel up to 100%People are our passion.
