S&W Contracting Co, LLC is seeking a Traffic Signal Fiber and Communications Technician — Lead for ITS installations in Murfreesboro, TN. You will install, test, and maintain fiber-optic networks for traffic signals and ITS devices on government projects, traveling as required.

The role emphasizes field expertise in splicing, testing, and troubleshooting, with opportunities for ongoing industry training and career growth. CDL preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in fiber optics, traffic signalization, ITS, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems.
• Proven ability to splice, connectorize, and troubleshoot networks.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsabilités

• Install, route, splice, and test fiber and comms infrastructure for signals and ITS devices.
• Test fiber with OTDRs, power meters, and diagnostics to verify signal integrity.
• Troubleshoot outages and restore traffic infrastructure efficiently.
• Configure field connections for cameras, detectors, and DM signs.
• Review plans and specs to complete precise field installations.
• Operate lifts and bucket trucks safely in active work zones.
• Document field progress and report to Field Supervisor.
