Job summary

AFL is hiring a Fiber Installation Technician to service and install broadband, video, and voice services for customers in the Omaha area. The role involves indoor and outdoor work, wiring, splicing, and customer education on network services.

You will handle fiber drops, COAX/CAT5 wiring, ONT installations, and activation of fiber networks, with safety and quality as priorities. A valid driver's license and ability to lift 100 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
• Flexible hours; some weekends/holidays may be required.
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• On-call and standby as workload requires.

Responsibilities

• Install and service fiber optic connections inside and outside the home.
• Connect fiber jumpers, drops (aerial, buried, plenum) and splice fiber drops.
• Install ONT and power supplies; configure customer equipment.
• Set up internet hubs/routers; educate customers on service usage.
• Verify service and assist with video service setup when ordered.
