Job summary

Cityside Fiber seeks a skilled Field Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot our fiber internet services. This role is the face of our company in the field, ensuring quality installations, resolving technical issues, and upholding safety standards.

Based in Irvine, CA, the position offers a competitive wage of $25/hr+, a 401(k) with company match, PTO, holidays, and growth opportunities. Travel may be required depending on role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in telecom/fiber optics (field experience preferred).
• Associate's/Bachelor's in Telecommunications, IT, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Proficiency with fiber splicing, blowing, and utility locating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber drop installations, splicing, trenching, and conduit placement.
• Set up fiber blowing, verify enclosures, and ensure proper labeling.
• Conduct quality control on installations and contractor work.
• Troubleshoot fiber optic systems and resolve on-site issues.
• Document field activities with photos and required forms in COS/Kairos or equivalent platforms.

Skills

2+ years in telecom/fiber optics

Safety protocols knowledge

Valid driver’s license

Education
