Job summary

TDS Telecommunications Corporation in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a Drop Installation Technician I to perform general construction labor for fiber drop facilities. You will help transport equipment, install drop facilities, and set up enclosures and handholes.

This role requires a valid drivers license, ability to pass safety training, and flexibility to work overtime, travel as needed, and operate manual transmission vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must follow attendance guidelines and meet business needs.
• Must pass all components of the Safety Course curriculum.
• Must complete customer-specific requirements, possibly including a background check.
• Basic understanding of telecommunication products and services.
• Proven organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• May require occasional travel.
• Willing to work overtime and various shifts as needed.
• Must be able to operate vehicles with manual transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor and transport equipment to and from the site.
• Install and place new drop facilities, enclosures, vaults, pedestals, and handholes.
• Mark/label fiber optic and copper facilities.
• Assist with fiber splicing and repairs.
• Perform landscape restoration after project completion.
• Complete related paperwork and support field services technicians.
