Job summary

TDS Telecom is hiring for a Horizontal Directional Driller – Fiber Construction position based in Wisconsin. The role involves building and maintaining a FIBER network, with full-time year-round work and some training travel. The pay ranges from $22.62 to $41.42 per hour, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus and potential relocation assistance.

Incentives up to $75/week for meeting targets. You will operate drills, install and test fiber lines, and support splicing and repairs while following safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in customer service, electrical or utility construction.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet DOT requirements.
• Ability to obtain a Class A CDL; a current CDL is preferred at hire.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal directional drill or locate for the drill.
• Install, maintain, test, and repair buried and aerial fiber lines.
• Set pedestals, vaults, handholes and other outside plant infrastructure.
• Climb poles, ladders, towers and structures; operate bucket trucks as needed.
• Restore job sites and keep accurate project labels and markings.
• Support fiber splicing and repair activities.
