Job summary

Thorlabs, Inc. in Morganville, NJ, is seeking a Technician II to fabricate, assemble, and test optical fiber components and assemblies within the Vytran Business Unit.

You will support production, engineering projects, and new product introduction with a high degree of independence. Requirements include a minimum of 4 years in manufacturing or related environments, a High School diploma (or equivalent), soldering experience preferred, and strong ability to read drawings, use basic hand tools,

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or field service environment.
• Soldering experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation to build and test products to quality standards.
• Perform advanced fiber processing operations: stripping, splicing, recoating, TEC fabrication, fiber lensing.
• Assemble, inspect, test, and package complex fiber optic components, assemblies, and modules.
• Perform optical, mechanical, and environmental testing using established methods and equipment.
• Analyze test results, identify performance trends, and troubleshoot issues.
• Support engineering activities related to process development, product improvement, and new product introduction.
